Эта работа стала первой в серии мной прочитанных историй, где Андерс стал инквизитором. (На самом деле довольно распространенная идея в английском фандоме.) Но дело даже не в том, что автору удалось довольно гармонично вписать в историю Инквизиции Андерса, не то, что из него вышел прекрасный сострадательный лидер и отзывчивый друг.
Нет, это в первую очередь история искупления, внутренних конфликтов, история преодоления и прощения собственных грехов. История, в которой Андерс наконец обретает покой и надежду на лучшее будущее. История, в которой он находит свое место.
По сути я никогда не любила Андерса как персонажа, в Пробуждении он казался мне клоуном, который шутил к месту и не очень. В DA2 нытиком мучеником, и брала его крайне редко в пати, не то что заводить с ним роман. Эта же работа позволила кардинально изменить свое отношение к персонажу написанному Дэвидом Гейдером. Именно автор этой работы, открывая для меня свое видение, заставила и меня взглянуть по-новому на персонажа.
Говорят «любовь в глазах смотрящего», и автор The Wrong Man настолько любит Андерса, что невозможно после прочитанного и вам не полюбить его!
И это не говоря о прекрасном слоге и перипетиях чувств главных и не очень героях.

I’ve never written one of these before, so be a little kind in reviewing. I know there are like a million stories that are Snape Mentoring Harry fics, because I’ve probably read them all, but I love them, can’t get enough of them, and wanted to write my own. So, no slash, no Harry is magically Snape’s biological kid, just a little abuse from the Dursley’s and Snape and Harry eventually having a father son kind of relationship. I know it seems out of character for Snape to ever like Harry but I believe in second chances and think that Snape deserved to have a family, if only things had been a little different. So here they will be a little different.

Леди и джентльмены, а посоветуйте какой-нибудь интересный англоязычный фанфик с несложным (простым) литературным языком. Желательно чтобы сам фанф не был переведен на русский язык, чтобы не было соблазна забить и прочитать так. Взял рандомный фанфик — то нормально, понимаю все, то автор начинает такие словесные обороты выкручивать, что в словарь приходится лезть в каждом предложении.

Я данный фанфик пробовал читать до того как перевели полностью, но уперся лбом в абсолютно инопланетную речь Эпплджек.

Выбирай любой. Можешь вот прям по алфавиту. 6 звезд дают только Настоящей Литературе из числа фиков. То есть, то что примет любое издательство без единой правки, если закроет глаза на проблемы с правообладанием. Простые смертные туда не попадают.
Из личных недавних впечатлений крайне рекомендую A Bluebird’s Song. Этот фик можно преподавать на кафедре литературы, как образец ИДЕАЛЬНО выстроенного сюжета. Такое количество ловких финтов и правильно развешенных ружей на стенах я видел, пожалуй, только в произведениях Мартина. Ну, «Песнь Льда и Пламени». Если же сравнивать с фиками, то с лучшими из них. Этот фик можно охарактеризовать так — возьмите «Yours Truly», смешайте с «Past Sins»(однозначная вершина литературного Олимпа брони, если ты о них каким-то чудом не слышал). Принимать залпом. Не перед сном, если не хотите просидеть до утра.
Так же могу порекомендовать Background Pony. Я его собираюсь переводить, когда покончу с Антропологией. Фик, увы, еще не закончен, но, по идее, близится к завершению. И он ОГРОМЕН. И невероятно, феерически крут. Психология, даже немного психиатрия. Очень необычная идея, очень глубокое и сильное исполнение. Второе место в топе Фимфикшена, уступает только Антропологии. И, надо сказать, я такой ситуацией недоволен. Все-таки Антропология совершенно ниочом по сравнению с этим произведением искусства.
Самый лучший способ научиться плавать — прыгнуть в омут.
Я начал читать литературу в оригинале как раз с Мартина. Какой там язык, думаю, объяснять не надо. Первые несколько глав было тяжело, потом словарный запас начал автоматически пополняться из контекста. Другого пути набрать словарный запас тупо нет. Ну не зубрить же.
Самый быстрый способ изучения языка — это наблюдение его в «естественной среде». Никакой учебник или словарь не даст такого сокрушительного вала опыта.
