With nearly a dozen locations in Japan and salons in Korea, Hawaii and LA, it was only natural for this stylish Japanese import to set up shop—well, two shops—in New York City. The owner, Masomi “Marie” Ueno, is one of the most celebrated nail artists in the world—she’s credited with starting the nail art trend in LA during the mid-aughts—and holds her technicians to the highest of standards. The Calgel manicures ($40 for a single color) tend to last two weeks, and the limitless nail art options ($3 per nail and up) can include additional add-ons like charms, stickers, rhinestones, shells, lace and even fur.

Art curator and licensed nail technician Rita de Alencar Pinto spent years doing intricate nail art at events such as Brooklyn Museum’s Artists Ball 2013 and during a residency at MoMA PS1, which is why her salon is a gallerylike space featuring four manicure stations, two pedicure chairs and video-art installations projected on the walls. Grab a pair of wireless headphones for listening to the videos, and sit back and enjoy a gel manicure, either in one color or one of the fun, weekly gel manicure specials ($40), basic pedicures ($30) or nail art ($50 and up). There are several artists on rotation who are all skilled in detailed design work, and both national and international artists take part in the residency program there.

Где подстричься и сделать маникюр? Ревизия салона Legend NY

Сходив в Legend NY, Лена Коренькова выяснила, чем окрашивание дома отличается от салонного, и узнала, что бывает маникюр, который держится три недели.

Идти в новый салон всегда немного волнительно. Особенно на стрижку. Перед отпуском засомневалась – может, лучше в проверенное место. Или рискнуть. Решила — рискнуть.

Legend NY раньше имел прописку в «Цветном» и был довольно популярен в узком кругу. Недавно переехал в Lotte Plaza — место, с точки зрения логистики, тоже удачное, хотя заблудиться там элементарно. Я особенно люблю путать этажи – но салон нашелся быстро: наверх по эскалатору, два раза свернуть направо, по указателям. Альтернативный метод – идти по зову сердца, то есть к стендам Giuseppe Zanotti.

Вход в салон находится точно за ними.

Путь из салона в туалет очень коварен. Красивый педикюр срочно хочется обуть в красивые босоножки. На них еще и скидку дают. Рррр.

Обстановка — минималистичная, даже сдержанная. Клиентки (7 человек в 11 утра, представляете?) пришли явно не «побаловать себя» и не светски почирикать, а строго по делу — за fast-маникюром и укладкой. Похоже, отсюда они стремглав рванут по встречам и совещаниям.

Зал поделен на несколько зон. Так выглядит парикмахерская зона…

и самая симпатичная, с видом на Садовое, маникюрная.

Ждать не пришлось, приняли сразу. Может, просто ранним утром еще ни одна опоздавшая птичка не успела сбить график, но все равно ставлю в этой графе «плюс».

Еще одно стратегически верное решение — утренний кофе подали в кружке с заспанной совой.

Топ-парикмахер салона Мисак Агасарян спросил, чего мне хочется. «Белое каре чуть ниже ушей, — попыталась пошутить я, но быстро сломалась: — Но это в следующий раз. Сегодня — давайте просто пряди у лица покороче:))»

Что он делал дальше — точно не смогу сказать. Говорить с Мисаком оказалось интереснее, чем следить за его манипуляциями. Давно не получала столько удовольствия от обмена профессиональным опытом. Я ему – о том, какие из попробованных в последнее время средств для волос я не поняла. Он мне – о том, как правильно ими пользоваться (сухой шампунь Kevin Murphy распылять по проборам в большом количестве).

Пришли к выводу: тем, кто пользуется Alterna, понравится Oribe. Кто любит Oribe, скорее всего не оценит стайлинг Kevin Murphy (он больше про уход, чем про wow-эффект). R+Co хорош на съемках и показах, цементирует намертво. Было ясно: Мисак разбирается во всех брендах, не пытаясь пропиарить тот, который ему выгодно.

Мои укороченные пряди у лица отросли и почти сравнялись с длиной.

Еще он рассказал, чем отличаются краски для домашнего и салонного использования. Первые – стойкие и цепкие. Цвет получается равномерным, вне зависимости от исходного оттенка и состояния волос. Но это работает и в обратную сторону: избавиться от надоевшего или нежеланного цвета можно только спец-смывками. Ну, или по методу шаолиньских монахов — через приятие, выдержку и терпение:) Спустя время дешевые пигменты тускнеют, волосы становятся пластмассовыми и жесткими.

Дорогие красители относятся к ним бережнее, но быстрее вымываются. Парикмахеру не так просто получить необходимый цвет: нужно учитывать текстуру и исходный оттенок корней, по длине, на сухих концах. Иногда приходится наносить три разных состава.

Раньше Мисак работал в Майами и Нью-Йорке, а до этого был арт-директором салона «Моне». На вопрос, как он очутился на Новинском бульваре, ответил не уклончиво. Получение американского гражданства – неприятный и долгий, тянущийся годами, процесс, а в России – родственники, друзья. Мне ужасно жаль публику Майами, лишившуюся Мисака (на самом деле, не очень – пусть утешаются океаном, которого у нас нет). Но я рада, что он вернулся.

Я не стала экспериментировать со стрижкой, но попросила необычную укладку – ту, которую сделали бы в Нью-Йорке. Мисак сказал, окей, но готова ли ты к эффекту «я была в салоне вчера»? Заулыбалась Чеширским котом. Готова? Еще бы. Да я вечно прошу (и обычно не получаю) такую небрежность. А моя домашняя – слишком небрежистая. С торчащим пушком. Короче, не то.

Вышло круто, и в жизни — намного круче, чем на камере.

В общем, Мисак – мой парикмахер. В буквальном смысле доверяю с первой стрижки.

Во-первых, они не стали комментировать состояние моих ногтей. Мне реально было за них стыдно (ногти – последнее, о чем я думала в том сумасшедшем месяце). У меня уже была заготовлена речь: «мизинец обломала о комод; кутикулу порезала, когда спешила на утреннюю съемку; а натоптыши – это потому что я много бегаю».

Но Татьяна и Анна бровями не повели. Никаких вопросов, намеков и неудобства.

Сразу после салона.

Во-вторых, гель-лак подержался две с половиной недели без сколов, пока не сняла (на ногах — стыдно признаться – не сняла до сих пор:)) Кутикула после аппаратного маникюра держалась еще дольше – 3 недели. Тот же эффект «вчера была в салоне»:))

Со слов мастеров, клиенты, которые постоянно ходили в «Цветной», продолжают приезжать в Lotte. В том числе те, которые сочли новую локацию неудобной и успели попрощаться. К слову, у Legend NY есть мобильный сервис. Любимый мастер может приехать к вам домой или в офис, доплата за услугу – 10-15% (в зависимости от квалификации). Можно расплатиться картой. По-моему, удобная опция. Анна говорит, что приезжала в роддом к девушкам, которые хотели быть на выписке – с маникюром.

Ложка дегтя у меня, впрочем, тоже набралась. Чайная. Например, почему из лаков здесь только Christina Fitzgerald, из гель-лаков – Luxio? В салонах с ценником в 1,5 раза ниже, выбор – в 1,5 раза больше.

Еще одна странность: покрытие Christina Fitzgerald у мастера стоит 500 руб., у старшего мастера – 600 руб. Но если надбавка за опыт заложена в стоимость маникюра (у мастера – 2300, у старшего мастера – 2700 руб.), зачем делать еще одну — к покрытию? Не понимаю, почему бы не сделать понежнее, не уместить эту несчастную разницу в цену на маникюр. Что, один мастер красит лак лучше, чем другой? На сто рублей?:)

Ну, и зона для педикюра показалась мне недостаточно интимной. Сидишь на возвышении, спиной к администратору. Ни стены, ни ширмы.

Если бы кто-то сидел рядом, было бы не слишком комфортно.

Хотя, может, это чисто моя заморочка.

Зато безусловный плюс – салон открыт с 7:00 до 23:00. Думаю, в Москве едва ли найдется много таких мест: надежных, в центре и с услужливым графиком.

В общем, уверенно рекомендую.
